Empowering Educators for the Future — Transforming Curriculum and Pedagogy in the NEP Era

Lotus Valley International School, Sector 126, Noida had the privilege of hosting the ISSA Educational Conclave 2025 on 20th December 2025, under the aegis of the Independent Self-Financed Schools Association (ISSA) — a vital platform for dialogue and collaboration between independent schools and government and district authorities on matters of shared educational concern.

The conclave commenced with the arrival of chief guest Shri Jaiprakash Chaturvedi, Director (Affiliation), CBSE, New Delhi, and special guest Prof. Dr Manu Kapur, Professor of Learning Sciences and Higher Education at ETH Zurich. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising the collective commitment to knowledge, reflection and progress, and a cultural performance that set a contemplative tone for the day.

The formal proceedings opened with a welcome address by Mr. Harkaran Uppal, followed by the felicitation of the distinguished guests. The academic highlight was the keynote address by Shri Jaiprakash Chaturvedi, who shared perspectives on curriculum reform, assessment practices and pedagogical transitions aligned with the National Education Policy.

An intellectually stimulating session on research-driven pedagogy and the principle of 'Productive Failure' was led by Prof. Dr Manu Kapur — author of the book Productive Failure — followed by a moderated question-and-answer session.

The conclave culminated in a panel discussion moderated by Dr Ruchi Seth, Director–Principal, Lotus Valley International School, Noida, whose interventions lent clarity and depth to the discourse. The roadmap ahead reaffirmed ISSA's collective vision of collaboration, leadership and excellence in education.

One of the key objectives of the Conclave was to make educators aware of the latest research in education, alongside global best practices followed across the world — enabling schools to align their teaching-learning processes with future-ready pedagogies.

A detailed report, actionable takeaway points from the panel discussion, and a research-based book authored by the guest speaker were shared with all promoters, chairpersons and school leaders following the event.
